Hmm, maybe I have a slightly different view on these things, but: What good is an input method for a certain language, if I can not even input sentence marks for that language?
Why do I need to have a special package for my text processing software, only to get a Chinese period or comma? This should be available for the whole OS, not just for one application...
I may perhaps not get all of the "special" characters people need in Chinese, but at least sentence marks will appear in "Chinese style" with scim (Chinese input method) on Linux. Why has Microsoft not solved this yet? Perhaps because everyone is happy to have icons for sentence marks in Word.
Strange world...

"Er, five."
"Wrong! You see?"
